Research and Development

Global operational environment and its rapid change emphasize the meaning of cooperation in creating new innovations. Cooperation works at its best in close interaction between companies, research institutes, the public sector, consumers and other actors, that is, in innovation ecosystems. In North Savo, networking and co-development in ecosystems has been seen as a meaningful factor in addressing future challenges.

Ecosystem work in Business Center North Savo happens through development and maintenance of the customer, business and cooperation expertise of the network actors, as well as through promoting the interdisciplinarity in research, development and innovation (RDI) operations. The goal is to create more conditions for national and international cooperation and the development of new solutions and new business in the region.

In the North Savo region, ecosystems focused on RDI have been formed around six key sectors. These sectors are health, water engineering, food and primary production, machine and material technologies, energy technology and bioeconomy.
